[ ROTGUT ]

Bass Distortion | $150

The Rotgut is my personal modification to the legendary ProCo RAT. Primarily a bass player, I wanted something to give that same heavy distortion but just a little…more. I’ve increased the input impedance to better suit modern pickups and preamps, as well as other electronic instruments like drum machines and synthesizers. The Rotgut can also take 18 volts without worry, for maximum headroom and low-end devastation.

Tonally, the frequency response is slightly wider for more overall low end, along with shifted filters to clash less with electric guitars. There is a full range clean blend to maintain your original attack and clarity with any distortion setting. Finally, a three-way asymmetric clipping toggle allows you to fine-tune the overall distortion and compression to suit your playing style.

Try the Rotgut on anything that uses a 1/4” cable: synthesizer, drum machine, etc. You may be surprised to find what distortion can do for you.

No, you don’t get a different LED color. Pink is cool.
